Garden Fresh Nachos – Your Way

Nachos are fun, versatile and easy to make. If you set up a nacho bar, you can please a variety of palates and food preferences. Lots of cheese, hold the cheese or vegan cheese, if you please, your guests can build their own personal platter. Skinny nacho, macho nacho, lotsa nacho, it’s yours to assemble.

I’ve been eating nachos frequently over the last few days and I love that each one is different depending on the ingredients I use. One night, I added chipotle gouda and jalapeño jack cheeses and piled on the onions. The cheese was spread out to all corners of the cookie sheet, hugging the blue corn tortilla chips as it began to melt. I changed the setting on the oven from bake to broil and allowed the gouda and jack to brown and crisp along the edges of the pan.

The experience was evangelical.

Garden Fresh Nachos with Black Bean Corn & Salsa & Garden Fresh Gourmet Zesty Guacamole

Grab your favorite ingredients and let’s start building:

Garden Fresh Nachos

  • Garden Fresh Gourmet Blue Corn Tortilla Chips
  • Shredded cheese (choose your faces)
  • Refried beans
  • Chopped onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Green peppers
  • Garden Fresh Gourmet Zesty Guacamole
  • Garden Fresh Gourmet Black Bean & Corn Salsa

Preheat oven to 350.

Arrange tortilla chips on a baking sheet. Sprinkle part of the cheese over the chips. Layer on your veggies. Sprinkle more cheese on top. Bake until the cheese is melted (about five minutes). I like to change the setting on the oven to broil to brown up the cheese just a wee little bit. If you decide to follow suit, I recommend standing vigil over the nachos so you don’t scorch em (so easy to do!).

Top with hearty helpings of guacamole and salsa.
