The Garden Fresh Story

Garden Fresh was born in the back of a small town diner in fabulous Ferndale just outside Detroit. Founders Jack and Annette Aronson employed a simple household blender, crafting fresh, all-natural salsa that could knock the socks off even the most seasoned salsa connoisseurs. Delicious meaty artichokes along with the nutty taste of garlic composed the founding flavor: Artichoke Garlic. The resulting salsa was so delicious, that the owner of an upscale market begged the pair to package it for his stores.

The Garden Fresh brand was born.

Our fresh, all-natural salsa deeply connected with the masses and through taste of mouth, we experienced widespread distribution. Garden Fresh is now available from sea to shining sea and we continue to stand by our founding formula: an uncompromising commitment to quality and food safety. While the blender has since retired to our hall of fame, we continue to make our salsa in small batches.

We apply this micro-batch approach to every product including the number one tortilla chip in the deli, plus an extraordinary line of hummus as well as gourmet dips guaranteed to knock your socks off!  In fact, with over 300 awards for excellence, Garden Fresh is also America’s most award-winning salsa by far!  One reason is that Garden Fresh salsa is made every day in small batches.

Despite the radical simplicity and proven effectiveness of HPP in eliminating food-borne pathogens and spoilage microorganisms, there are still only about 100 HPP processing facilities in operation in the entire world – and Garden Fresh Gourmet is one of them!  Our state-of-the-art high pressure (87,000 psi) processing systems enable Garden Fresh to provide cleaner, fresher products that are preservative-free and delicious – exactly what health-conscious consumers are looking for today.  For food retailers, the Garden Fresh HPP advantage means an extraordinarily long shelf life for our refrigerated deli products, fewer merchandise returns and generally happy customers.

Making Sustainable Salsa

Being green is also an important part of the Garden Fresh story from sending our vegetable scraps to a local farm for composting, to donating our used tortilla chip oil to a school for use as biodiesel fuel for their fleet of school buses. We embrace a robust recycling program, continually looking for ways to minimize our carbon footprint on this fragile planet.
